Backstage Fun

The kids performed with the Russian Ballet Academy in the Nutcracker for two nights of sold out shows of nearly 900. They brought it when it was time to perform. Isaac doesn't take lessons but was asked to help be one of the party boys because they didn't have enough boys in the cast. He nailed his part and showed his theatrical side. His facial expressions were over the top; he was so dramatic he may have even stolen the attention away from some of the dancers in the scene. Abigail, though (as we found out later) she was battling the start of the flu, was perfectly poised with the most beautiful posture and elbow position. She was lovely. I could not have been more proud of them. They also used their many backstage ours to establish new friendships. God has blessed our family with these two!!! It will be fun to see if they pursue the stage as they get older (we know the love of drama they get from mom and dad...who knows maybe community theater for the whole family may be in our future). :)

Christmas Day, FLU by...

We were able to capture a few pictures Christmas morning before everyone's fevers spiked. Daddy was double medicated just to be able to get out of bed. We were on lock-down because Chris had H1N1, the "swine flu." Plans changed, but God is still good. We mustered enough energy to sing and open a few gifts...then watch a lot of Christmas movies.

As my dad said, our holiday "FLU" by. Ha. We spent the rest of our days through New Years resting, drinking water and fighting fevers. We were blessed to have friends minister to us. They dropped of food, medicine, cards for our kids made by their kids, tea, and even a bunch of crafts to keep Abigail entertained when she recovered (but we were still out of commission and couldn't play with her).

After a few days, Isaac actually asked if he could NOT watch a movie...even though the Beanes dropped off all the newest awesome ones that had just come out on video (Despicable Me 2, Monsters University, etc).

We praise God we made it through without secondary infections, hospitalization or pneumonia.

Isaac's Piano Recital and Abigail Starts Piano

Isaac played the William Tell as a surprise for Papa. It is so amazing to see how Isaac has grown in a year. We are so thankful that his (very musical) Grandpa Rick gave him his start in music by blessing us with lessons his first year.

Isaac loves his teacher, Mrs. Dunham. She is the perfect balance of strictness and discipline coupled with rewards and encouragement. Abigail has started lessons this year too. They both have an aptitude for music. I wm excited to see how they will use their abilities to glorify the Lord as they grow.

Psalm 92:1 " It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High"
