Thanks 364/365

How did I do it? "364/365" ?!?! I missed one day this year to give thanks...

It's actually kind of funny and fits this year. I have taken on a bit much, say "yes" to a lot, and try to fit in one more thing...and miss things. I have messed up on quite a few dates and events this year. The biggest one was missing the date Bernie set for spreading Grandpa's ashes. There have also been smaller ones like driving Abigail to dance when it wasn't open, missing taekwondo class for Isaac, and even being late to Carson's birthday. The big praise I can say in that is that the Lord uses it to keep my humble (because I could easily fall into pride when I have it "all together" while not being gracious to others).

So, I will praise God that I am not perfect and am in desperate need of grace. I praise Him that He reminds me that the others around me who are not perfect also need me to extent that same grace.

I also praise God for a really nice evening together, shopping, dining out, talking about goals for the new year, laughing, dancing, playing games and retelling some of our favorite moments of 2017.

Thankful that we can be home together when we are a little under the weather...

Thanks 362/365

What a great time to be home together having soup, building a puzzle, making kale chips, playing Clue, listening to jazz, eating sushi, and getting over colds on a rainy cold day in December.

One momentous occasion is that we finished a bottle of garlic that my mom bought over 17 years ago at my bridal shower. Silly, but nostalgic.

Thanks 361/365

Today, I am thankful to be able to share with Bernie how much we love her (knowing she is spreading Grandpa's ashes tomorrow after waiting 14 years).

We are also thankful to visit with Hanna and Erik from Germany. It's crazy to think that I was her age when she lived her. It's crazier to think that the next time they come out, they may have kids that are the age my kids were when they met her, and they may be the actually be the age she was when she was an exchange student. Time flies.

*I am even thankful for my stinker of a son who is the worst photographer ever.

Thanks 360/365

I am thankful for my sweet kids who used their Christmas money to get their daddy the espresso cup from Starbucks they know he really wanted. I also love that Isaac adores his gift from Grandpa Craig and Grandma Neicy. It's really cute that Aunt Christine picked out a cute gift that Abigail never would have asked for but she ended up really liking (I guess they really got to know one another in Texas during their last trip).

Lots of thank to be spread today. Thanks for all the Christmas gifts, thanks for the sound of karaoke, and thanks for a few moments to work on my Bible study.

Thanks 358/365

Thankful for Jesus!
Friends, family, Papa's homemake figgy pudding, and the fact that Gramma didn't actually get run over by a reindeer (but cracked us up with Fonda's toy).
