Aunt Char is in Town!
We had a nice visit with Aunt Char (Rick's sister) when they were in town. Conversation was nice at dinner. We had good discussions about our faith and how Jesus shapes who we are. Sharing in love does help people listen, even if they don't agree.
Oh my girl...
I just love this girl. I always tell her that I don't understand her. I don't process or think like she does. I try hard, but I just don't "get" her. She is just like her daddy. Isaac is just like me. When I cannot reach her, I ask her dad for advice (because she is mini-Chris), but he doesn't have answers. Sometimes, it makes her sad that I don't understand her. I remind her that, though Isaac is just like me, of all the people I could have picked in the world, I picked her dad. I may not understand him, but I adore him. In that same way, I would pick her and adore her so much.
I tell her that Isaac is like a goose. When they migrate, they are orderly, honking commands at one another and have a clear pattern. Abigail is like a butterfly. She is beautiful and colorful and flutters around from place to place in a pattern I cannot comprehend, but she gets there! Neither is better than the other, but God made them so very different in special, beautiful and amazing ways.
I pray she always has a kind heart who is really attentive to details and the hearts of others. I love who God has made her and I know He has great plans for her!!
Oaks Park--Isaac Takes on the big rides!
Chris' company picnic this year was at Oak Park. Isaac wanted to take on the "big rides" but Mom tried one roller coaster and a spinning ride and turned white. Thankfully Sean Potter was there to step in to take Isaac on all the big rides that Mom and Dad (who is awaiting back surgery) could not handle. Our little guy became a man today. Though he was scared and wanted to get out of line, he got on every ride. When he go on, he rushed to get on again.
We were able to hang out with the Potter's little girl, Lorelai. She an Abigail had the sweetest time together on all the little rides. Afterwords, Abigail went on a trip to store with Daddy and do what they love...laugh, chat and play music way too loud. (She looks so old it this picture).

Summer at the doctor's office
This summer had a lot of time at the doctor's that we didn't expect! Isaac has been through a lot of PT to help him with the pain in his legs and hips. He got special arch supports that should help with his flat feet. Overall, he's had a really good attitude and I am super grateful that Chris works for good medical and the money to easily pay our co-pays and out of pocket expenses.
I am thankful, though I would rather spend the time and money doing something fun, the kids and I are even able to make this time at the doctor together enjoyable.
