2014 Christmas

Lots of little things make Christmas what it is. The whole season is remembering Jesus' birth and God's great love for us. With that, comes tree hunting with the Beane's, Elf fun, Isaac making a beautiful clay angel, singing in the kids' choir at church, Abigail painting a nativity, gathering around our advent wreath (this year the kids played the piano while we sang some of our Christmas songs), they had their paino recital with Mrs. Dunham, Chris delivering treats to realtors with his partner, candlelight service, hand made gifts from Adam, Christmas cards, Alepenrose Dairy with the Brickman's, and we had a special lunch for Downtown Bible class.

Cousin Stanley's Wedding

I LOVE my family and treasure the rare times we can all get together. We enjoyed catching up as we celebrated my cousin Stanley getting married. We danced, we laughed, we talked and hugged. The wedding was short and sweet and the reception was darling. I LOVED Isaac's words of advice for the couple...we had to take a picture of his note...he is wise beyond his 8 years! I hope he carries those words into his marriage.

Abigail, the party animal danced and played with cousin Jordan after Chris, Isaac and I went to bed. She probably would have pulled an all-nighter if we didn't call her grandparents and tell her to come back to our room. She loves fun people and dancing, so Jordan was a perfect match for her.

Sacramento Fun

We took a CRAZY drive with Gramma & Papa in the van to get to Sacramento for cousin Stanley's wedding. Chris was so scared at moments because the storm was so aggressive that he couldn't see out the window at all while the wind attempted to push us out of our lane. Thankfully he remained clam on the outside as he prayed and prayed for our safety while we listened to CD books. There rain was so heavy that parts of the 5 freeway got completely shut down. We did make it, thank the Lord.

While there, the enjoyed some snuggle time in the hotel with their grandparents. They "worked out" in the hotel gym and played Christmas songs on the piano in the lobby. We had nice dinner out together and enjoyed being across the hall from Gramma and Papa and down the hall from cousin Jordan. Isaac and Abigail belly laughed as Jordan made silly voices and teased about Smokey the Bear.

Before the wedding festivities began, the kids also got to visit the California state capitol and their cousin Charlie at the Folsom zoo. It was quite a fun little adventure.

(Dad, who "always" had to work, made himself a little "office" in our hotel room.) :0
