OBOB Champs!

   wow! OBOB! πŸ“–
OK, so we ( the St.JKBs ) started out losing our first battle.😒
The next battle we won. All the next battles went like this, until the last battle in our class, when I was in Universal.
I was having so much fun at Universal, that I had almost forgot about the battle!
"Mrs. Jones sent me a text, saying 'What size of shirt does Abigail wear?' "
Thinking back to when Malia had said if we won for our class, we could make shirts!!!!!!πŸ‘•

“WE WON FOR OUR CLASS!”

We beat every class after that.
Finally, we went against the fifth graders. WE HAD TO BE ON STAGE IN FRONT OF THE THIRD, FOURTH, AND FITH GRADERS.

P.S. WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At regionals, we got NITH place!!!!!!!!  It was only the TOP EIGHT, so we didn’t get to the next level.           Walking out with a smile on our faces, because we knew that we felt like winnersπŸ‘©πŸ»‍🏫

"Not the best" 12th birthday for Isaac

This year was not the best birthday Isaac had...
Though he got amazing gifts from his grandparents and the wonderful memories of Universal Studios, the day was a bit of a let-down.
Isaac went to a multi-church youth group overnight event in Portland. The outing included venturing around PDX where Isaac had an allergic reaction to marijuana some people on the streets were smoking. After that, he got shot in the eye with Nerf bullets by a troubled kid. It caused him majoe pain and swollen eyes. The praise is that he really bonded with one of the leaders, Nathan, who comforted him on the bus while Isaac shed tears. He also saw reminded of the special friendship he has with Johnny that goes back now 10 years!!!

Welcome to American Joe!

LEGAL IMMIGRATION IS PART OF WHAT MAKES AMERICAN TRULY WONDERFUL.

Today our friend Joe became a citizen. It was a beautiful thing to watch people from all over the world become part of our great melting pot. There we all ages, from a senior missing a leg in a wheelchair to a toddler in a sparkly dress who also got her papers because her mom and dad both became citizens. There was a 19 year old college student who was smiling ear to ear and a middle aged woman in a stunning African gown. There was a charming young man who was special needs and needed his buddy to help him the whole time. There were a variety of faiths including Sikh, Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Hindu. Some were fluent in English, some still needed an interpreter. The most moving part was when each person said their name and the country they were from. It's pretty powerful! The mix of the people in the room who are now "one of us" is what make Americana so unique. I was reminded of what a privilege it is to be a citizen of the USA and how easily I take if for granted.

*There was even a class of elementary school children on a field trip who sat in to watch today; I hope it made a lasting impact in their little minds.

PDX Escape Room

...We started in handcuffs and ended in sweet victory.

We escaped!!! Only 15% make it out, and WE DID IT...with 29 seconds to spare. What an awesome team. What a fun group date night.
