This year, Halloween meant more that just going out with the neighbors. This year, we got to give Takeru his first American trick-or-treat experience. Though it was rainy and cold, the kids ran around and collected candy from all the neighbors in the orange Halloween buckets from Home Depot (Takeru's idea) and had a blast. Takeru wore a rain coat that completely covered his costume (so no one could identify what he was dressed as...which is actually pretty funny...Japanese exchange student as Captain America). Isaac's Minecraft box head got drenched. It was heavy with water and he couldn't see, so he ended up coming home an doing a quick switch into something else he already had. Abigail loved every minute of it all! People, dressing up and free candy.
(This was all after class parties and the costume parade at the school. Takeru must think that all we do in America is make excused to party and eat junk food).
