One of the missionaries from our church who lives and works in Israel came and spoke this morning at church. He shared, mostly out of Isaiah, passages that point to Jesus as the coming King. It is a "no brainer" to me because I have heard it, read it, and know it to be true. Yet, familiarity can be something that limits my awe and gratitude of the truth that has se me free.
So, I pause, and thank God that He did send his Son, just like He said, to come and die to pay the penalty for my sin and set me free to live for Him.
As a side note, I am really grateful for Chris who came home after another long day at work to have an epic water gun fight with the kids. They were all sopping wet, all fully clothes in their regular clothes. They all cornered me and soaked me through also. As a surprise, Hannah rode by and joined in on the fun. A day of chores and house cleaning ended with a night to be remembered.
We splurged and let the kids dip in the spa and hang out until way too late!
...it is Summer, after all.
